The boys will fly to Kolkatta on 23rd May 2011 to participate in the INDIA Finals to be played between YAMHA’s Pune, Nagpur, Kerala, Kolkata and Assam teams. The Winner team will get chance to play in Thailand for the Main YAMAHA ASEAN CUP-2011.

After sponsoring the Deccan Chargers team in the Indian Premier Leagure (Cricket) , Yamaha now looks to sponsor the ASEAN Under-13 Cup in FOOTBALL.

Yamaha as a brand has always been a big name in India, but the brand got even bigger after the launch of its flagship two-wheelers the YZF-R15 and the FZ family. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer recently sponsored the Deccan Chargers Team in the IPL, and now moves to funding football events like the Under-13 ASEAN Cup.

The championship was kicked off on 15th May, and will continue till the 28th of this month. 120 players from eight teams across five cities (Pune, Nagpur, Kerala, Kolkata and Assam) have participated in this tournament.

The winner of the tournament will represent India in the third U-13 Yamaha ASEAN Cup in Thailand in July this year. Six teams from five different countries (Thailand-2, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and India) will participate in this prestigious tournament.

Ltd. “Yamaha Motor Company has been successfully organizing the Yamaha ASEAN Cup U-13 Football since 2008. This is the first time that Yamaha has organized this tournament in India and we are committed to promote the spirit of football in India by offering a platform to budding football enthusiasts to display their talent”, he added.
